The Federal Government, through the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDC), has placed the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and nine states on high Ebola preparedness alert following the outbreak of the deadly Bundibugyo strain of the Ebola Virus Disease in parts of East and Central Africa. The states classified as high-risk include Lagos, Rivers, Kano, Enugu, Borno, Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Taraba, Adamawa, and the FCT, due to their international airports, seaports, border routes, and heavy human movement. In a congratulatory message made available to the public, Hon. Eku Fidelis described the victory as well-deserved and a strong reflection of the confidence, trust, and overwhelming support the people continue to place in Senator Jarigbe’s leadership and representation at the National Assembly.
According to him, the senator’s commitment to the development of Cross River North Senatorial District, dedication to the welfare of the people, and passion for inclusive growth have continued to distinguish him as a true servant-leader.
He noted that the outcome of the primary election further demonstrates the massive endorsement Senator Jarigbe enjoys among party faithful, stakeholders, and constituents across the district.
Hon. Eku Fidelis also described the victory as one for the people, unity, progress, and continuity of quality representation, expressing optimism that Senator Jarigbe’s leadership will continue to attract more development, empowerment opportunities, and people-oriented initiatives to Cross River North.
