In a remarkable display of initiative and community spirit, the Chairman of Ogoja Local Government Council, Hon. Christopher Agbeh, has refurbished the Council's ambulance and directed its usage for public service. This is designed to assist the community in times of emergency and related cases while also serving as a source of revenue for the Council. This approach is to galvanize an increase in revenue generation which highlights the Chairman's commitment to exploring alternative sources of income for the local government. The newly constituted "Clean Up Ogoja" committee is tasked with executing a comprehensive plan to clean up and restore the city’s public spaces, streets, and drainage systems. Hon. Agbeh, in his address, emphasized the importance of a clean and healthy environment for the well-being of residents, the promotion of public health, and the overall aesthetic value of the community. History was made last year with the introduction of Cross River North Carnival by Her Excellency Bishop. (Mrs.) Eyoanyan Bassey Otu, the mother of humanity and elegance wife of the Governor of Cross River State. The carnival is Fondly called "Ogoja Carnival". Hon. Sunny Achang Co-Sponsors Motion to Restore Power Supply/Electricity in Ogoja.

In a significant step towards improving the living conditions of residents, Hon. Mary Illah Otoro, the Councilor representing Urban Ward 2, has moved a motion to restore stable power supply to Abakpa, Ogoja.  The motion was co-sponsored by Hon. Sunny A. Achang, Councilor for Mbube East 1 and Deputy Leader of the House, who emphasized the urgency of addressing the ongoing power challenges faced by the entire Ogoja community. Hon. Sunny Achang highlighted the critical need for the restoration of electricity, noting the severe impact of erratic and poor power supply on residents and businesses. Hon. Achang urged stakeholders and the executives of Ogoja Local Government Area to urgently address the power issue, which has caused significant hardship for the people of the region. The motion aims to ensure that Ogoja's electricity supply is restored and improved, benefiting the community and fostering economic growth.

In a bid to address the ongoing power supply challenges in Abakpa, Ogoja, Hon. Mary Illah Otoro, the Councilor Representing Urban Ward 2, has moved a motion urging the Local Government to take immediate action in restoring electricity to some affected areas. For the past three years, several parts of Abakpa have experienced a total blackout due to the malfunctioning and vandalization of transformers by thieves. The motion seeks to bring urgent attention and intervention to three transformers located in key areas of Abakpa: Abakpa Bridge, Santa-Maria Clinic, and Basin Road opposite the Government Technical College, Abakpa. Abakpa Bridge Transformer: serves Old Court Road, Boki Road, Ogboja Road, and Igol-Afok. SA Peace and Security Ogoja LGA, Mr. Okongor Sylvester Warns traders at Ndok Junction to Move 6 Meters Away from the highway

SA Peace and Security Ogoja LGA, Mr. Okongor Sylvester, at Ndok junction with community leaders addressing traders on the risk involved in displaying thier products close to the busy road side. The advised that they take 6 meters off the road, for their safety, their goods and that of road users. He also discussed with the Ndok community leaders headed by Mr. Agaji Peter, ways to clear the multiple road blocks in the name of collecting revenue for the government which in reality ends up in individuals pocket.  As a pragmatic SA, he personally dismantled some of the road blocks and caution against fraudulent revenue collection activities on our roads which has a direct negative economic impact on the Ogoja people and warned that the era of such activities is gone with the new sheriff in town.
