The House of Representatives committee on constitutional review said it has received proposals for the creation of 31 new states in the federation. Benjamin Kalu, the deputy speaker, who presided over Thursday’s plenary session read the letter of the committee containing the proposed states. The states of the federation will increase from 36 to 67 if the proposal is approved. The proposed states include: NORTH-CENTRAL 1. BENUE ALA STATE from the present Benue State. 2.
