Vice Chairman Mary Illah Otoro Receives Catholic Women Organization on Courtesy Visit in Ogoja

OGOJA, Cross River State — The Vice Chairman of Ogoja Local Government Council, Hon. Mrs. Mary Illah Otoro, on Monday warmly received members of the Catholic Women Organization (CWO), Holy Trinity Parish, Ogboja, during a courtesy visit to her office following her recent appointment. The visit, which was marked by prayers, thanksgiving, and words of encouragement, underscored the strong relationship between faith-based organizations and leadership in promoting community development within Ogoja Local Government Area. Speaker of the Cross River State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Elvert Ayambem, has welcomed two lawmakers, Hon. Martins Achadu and Hon. Brian Odey, as well as thousands of their supporters, from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC). Hon. Martins Achadu, who represents Yala 2 State Constituency, officially defected to the APC in the Ijiraga ward. Speaking at the event, Speaker Ayambem described the move as a timely and strategic decision for the party and the People's First Administration. On September 14, 2024, a significant milestone was celebrated at the commissioning ceremony of OMLEHA Aluminum Roofing and Construction Ltd., held at the company’s factory site located opposite Ogoja Army Barracks on Okuku Road. The event was honored by the presence of the Commissioner for Wealth Creation and Employment, Hon. Patrick Egbede, who represented His Excellency, the Governor of Cross River State, Sen. Prince Bassey Otu. During the ceremony, AVM Emmanuel Wonah, the MD/CEO of OMLEHA Aluminum Roofing and Construction Ltd., through Hon. Patrick Egbede presented a special souvenir to the Deputy Governor. The Deputy Governor expressed immense pride in AVM Emmanuel Wonah’s dedication and compassion towards the community, recognizing the positive impact of the company’s initiatives on local employment and wealth creation. This gesture reflects the government’s support for private sector involvement in driving economic growth within Cross River State.
