National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) Ogoja Chapter Holds Enlarged Meeting with Special Adviser on Peace and Security Mr Sylvester Okongor
The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) today convened an enlarged meeting for all Executive Committee (Exco) members and community youth leaders. The purpose of the gathering was to familiarize the members with the newly appointed Special Adviser (SA) on Peace and Security to the Chairman of Ogoja Local Government Area Council, Mr. Sylvester Okongor, also known as General TT Tompolo.
The meeting, held in the Local Government Council Hall, allowed for constructive dialogue and collaboration between Mr. Okongor and the NYCN leadership. Key issues related to security matters in the community were discussed, with a focus on finding practical solutions to enhance peace and Security for all citizens. Mr. Okongor shared his vision for a more secure environment in Ogoja LGA and emphasized the importance of collective efforts in addressing the region's security challenges.
Mr. Okongor expressed his commitment to working closely with the youth community in Ogoja, highlighting the pivotal role young people play in promoting peace, unity, and Security. He reiterated the need for active collaboration between the Local Government, youth leaders, and relevant security agencies to safeguard the well-being of all residents.
The National Youth Council of Nigeria, under the leadership of its Executive Committee, commends Mr. Okongor for his appointment and pledges its unwavering support for his initiatives aimed at achieving lasting peace and security in Ogoja. The Council also called for more engagement with the youth, ensuring that they remain at the forefront of peacebuilding efforts in the region.
The meeting concluded with a mutual understanding of the importance of peace and security, and a shared commitment to working together to tackle security challenges within the community by Setting Up a Vigilante Committee.
