Chairman of Ogoja Local Government Council, Hon. Christopher Agbeh, Constitutes Committee on CLEAN UP OGOJA.



The newly constituted "Clean Up Ogoja" committee is tasked with executing a comprehensive plan to clean up and restore the city’s public spaces, streets, and drainage systems.

Hon. Agbeh, in his address, emphasized the importance of a clean and healthy environment for the well-being of residents, the promotion of public health, and the overall aesthetic value of the community. "This initiative is in line with our administration's commitment to improving the living conditions of our people and enhancing the attractiveness of Ogoja as a key city in Cross River State. A clean environment is not only essential for health but also vital for economic activities and tourism," he said.

The committee, which is made up of experts in environmental health, local officials, and community leaders, is expected to begin work immediately. The project will focus on waste management, the removal of illegal dumpsites, the maintenance of public facilities, and the improvement of sanitation in all wards of Ogoja. Additionally, public awareness campaigns will be launched to encourage community participation in maintaining a cleaner environment.

The Chairman further assured the public that the local government will provide necessary resources, including waste disposal equipment and sanitation workers, to ensure the smooth execution of the program.

Hon. Agbeh called on all residents of Ogoja to support the committee’s efforts by adhering to proper waste disposal practices and participating in community clean-up activities. "Together, we can make Ogoja a model of cleanliness in the region",he added.
