COMM.EGBEDE INVESTED AS PEACE AMBASSADOR

The State Commissioner for Wealth Creation and Employment, Hon Patrick Egbede has asserted that sustainability of peace in Bakor Nation would ignite the highly desired socio-political and economic growth of the area.

The Commissioner asserted this at Ntara 2 in Ekajuk Ward 1, Ogoja Local Government Area during his investiture as Patron Of Bakor Women Peace Makers.

Hon Paddy Egbede expressed optimism that sustainable peace would create a vent for the activation of the potentials of the people of the area which would dovetail into unprecedented development.

He praised the women for the initiative describing them as true mothers with hearts of gold channeling resources into the plausible venture capable of rejuvenating the spirit of unity among the Bakor nation.

The Commissioner opined that the blossoming of the peace project across Bakor nation would eventually submerged all the family and community fueds which have bedeviled some communities into oblivion.

He advised the Organisation to design modalities  that would be in congruity with the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the laws of the land to ensure that sustainable peace is guaranteed.

The Commissioner commended the State Governor, Apostle Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu for his pivotal leadership which has enthroned relative peace in Cross River State leading to investors showing tremendous interest in the State.

Hon Egbede noted that the ultimate goal of the Organization was in line with the desires of the State Governor.

Performing  the investiture ceremony, the president of the Bakor Women Peace Makers Mama Rita Mobil Ebu described Hon Patrick Egbede as a prudent and sensitive individual with the zeal to strive for peace even in trying circumstances.

She said that the Commissioner has very often demonstrated in different fora  an avowed desire to institute peace in the Bakor nation and expressed confidence that he would remain a pillar to the course of peace.

The Commissioner used the opportunity to further demonstrate his interest for the development of agriculture in his immediate community, Ntara 2 in Ekajuk Ward 1 by distributing herbicides worth hundreds of thousands of Naira to the people to enhance high yield in their farming activities.
